A patient with a history of alcohol abuse and pancreatitis presented with a pleural effusion resulting from a fistula between the pancreatic duct and left pleural space. Two weeks into her hospitalization, fever and persistent bloodstream infection with Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae and Candida albicans developed.

A 78-year-old man with gastric diffuse large B cell lymphoma presented with persistent Helicobacter canis bacteremia while receiving chemotherapy. An examination of his medical history revealed a close exposure to dogs. The patient recovered after 4 weeks of antibiotic therapy.
