[A Case of Robot Assisted Low Anterior Resection for a Patient with Persistent Descending Mesocolon].

Gan to kagaku ryoho. Cancer & chemotherapy, 2022
Persistent descending mesocolon(PDM)is caused by absence of fusion of the descending colon to the retroperitoneum. A 67-year-old man with bloody stools was diagnosed with rectal cancer on colonoscopy. A computed tomography showed a medial displacement of his descending colon.

[Case of Laparoscopic Sigmoidectomy for a Patient with Persistent Descending Mesocolon].

Gan to kagaku ryoho. Cancer & chemotherapy, 2017
A 65-year-old man with bloody stools was diagnosed with sigmoid colon cancer on colonoscopy. A preoperative barium enema and a computed tomography colonography scan showed a medial displacement of his descending colon. The preoperative clinical diagnosis was stage cT1 colon cancer, N0, M0, cStage I . Laparoscopic sigmoidectomy was performed.

A case of persistent descending mesocolon

1991
During dissection of the abdomen the descending cotonwas found to be displaced medially with a persistentmesocolon still present. In the lateral recess created bythis abnormal position were found coils of ileum andjejunum. The ascending colon although not displacedalso contained a persistent mesocolon, althoughsomewhat shorter in length. Throughout its

[Anatomical classification of and laparoscopic surgery for left-sided colorectal cancer with persistent descending mesocolon].

Zhonghua wei chang wai ke za zhi = Chinese journal of gastrointestinal surgery, 2023
Objective: To investigate anatomical morphology and classification of persistent descending mesocolon (PDM) in patients with left-sided colorectal cancer, as well as the safety of laparoscopic radical surgery for these patients. Laparoscopic high anterior resection for triple colorectal cancers with persistent ascending and descending mesocolons: A case report

Asian Journal of Endoscopic Surgery, 2018
AbstractPersistent mesocolon is an embryological anomaly of the colon resulting from failure of the primitive dorsal mesocolon to fuse with the parietal peritoneum. We herein present a case of laparoscopic high anterior resection for triple colorectal cancers with persistent ascending and descending mesocolons and a right‐bound inferior mesenteric ...
