A Case of Right‐Sided Heart Failure and Severe Pulmonary Hypertension Secondary to Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
We present a case of isolated partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC) in a 48‐year‐old woman with severe pulmonary hypertension and right‐sided heart failure. CT pulmonary angiography revealed anomalous drainage of the right upper pulmonary vein into the superior vena cava, with no associated atrial septal defect.

Implantation of a totally implanted venous device unexpected discovery of left permanent superior vena cava in a patient with sigmoid colon cancer: a case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery
Persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) is an intrathoracic vascular malformation. Sigmoid colon cancer with a left superior vena cava (LSVC) is very rare.

Interrupted Inferior Vena Cava with Hemiazygos Continuation in an Adult with a Persistent Left Superior Vena Cava and Left Single Coronary Artery: A Case Report

open access: yes대한영상의학회지, 2016
A 50-year-old woman was referred to our institution for medical screening due to an incidental finding on abdominal ultrasonography. She underwent chest, abdomen and cardiac multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT).

Chylothorax after patent ductus arteriosus ligation in a dog with persistent left cranial vena cava

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 103, Issue 12, Page 919-922, December 2025.
This report is the first to document chylothorax after patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ligation in a dog with a persistent left cranial vena cava (PLCVC), highlighting potential complications arising from concurrent cardiovascular anomalies. A nine‐month‐old female desexed Pomeranian was referred for PDA. Echocardiography confirmed a left‐to‐right shunt

Serum Proteomic Profiling Uncovers LGALS3BP as a Potential Biomarker for Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 19, Issue 12, December 2025.
Serum proteomic analysis revealed 114 differentially expressed proteins in IPAH. LGALS3BP, validated as elevated by ELISA, emerges as a new biomarker for pathogenesis and translation. ABSTRACT Background Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) is a progressive and fatal disease characterized by pathological pulmonary vascular remodeling and ...

Outcomes of Non‐Paroxysmal AF Undergoing Ablation Guided by a Novel High‐Density Panoramic Cycle‐Length Mapping System

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, Volume 48, Issue 12, Page 1424-1433, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Catheter ablation is a current therapeutic approach for atrial fibrillation (AF). However, the efficacy for non‐paroxysmal AF remains suboptimal. Objective We hypothesize that the novel panoramic cycle‐length mapping (CLM) system can guide the pulmonary vein (PV) isolation and additional potential AF drivers.

Pulse Field Ablation for Persistent Atrial Fibrillation: Targeting the Persistent Superior Vena Cava

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, Volume 48, Issue 12, Page 1414-1418, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) is a rare vascular anomaly that can act as a trigger for atrial fibrillation (AF). Thermal ablation in this region carries a notable risk. Pulse field ablation (PFA), a non‐thermal modality, offers a safer alternative.
