Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Near‐Infrared Light‐Driven Zn/Au Janus Micromotors for Multiplex SERS Detection of Anticancer Drugs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zn/Au Janus micromotors, propelled by thermophoretic effects under NIR light, function as active SERS platforms for single and multiplex detection of anticancer drugs. Their dynamic motion enhances analyte exchange at the Au interface, reducing saturation and competitive adsorption, thereby improving sensitivity and extending the linear detection range.

Perturbation Methods for Image Synthesis

open access: yes, 1999
This thesis presents new mathematical and computational tools for applying perturbation methods to image synthesis. The key idea is to characterize families of closely related optical paths by expanding a given path into a high-dimensional Taylor series.

An Investigation of New Methods for Numerical Stochastic Perturbation Theory in $\varphi^4$ Theory

open access: yes, 2017
Numerical stochastic perturbation theory is a powerful tool for estimating high-order perturbative expansions in lattice field theory. The standard algorithms based on the Langevin equation, however, suffer from several limitations which in practice ...

Swelling‐Induced Stress‐Assisted Transfer of Nanodiamond Arrays With a PVA Carrier Tape for Conformal Bio‐Integrated Sensing and Labelling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a swelling‐induced, stress‐assisted water‐soluble PVA tape strategy to transfer‐print nanodiamond quantum‐sensor arrays onto soft, curved biological interfaces. The room‐temperature, water‐triggered process achieves >98% fidelity and residue‐free integration, enabling conformal quantum sensing on contact lenses, neural probes, and ...

Unbounded perturbation of the controllability for evolution equations

open access: yes, 2003
In this paper we prove that the controllability for evolution equations in Banach spaces is not destroyed, if we perturb the equation by “small” unbounded linear operator. This is done by employing a perturbation principle from linear operator theory and

Vacuum Formed Spherical Triboelectric Architecture Overcoming Direction Constraints for 3D‐Omnidirectional Ultrasonic Energy Receiving

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
First vacuum formed spherical triboelectric converter for 3D‐omnidirectional ultrasonic energy receiving, with configurable DC or pulse outputs for versatile applications. ABSTRACT Ultrasound‐driven triboelectric nanogenerators (UD‐TENGs) have emerged as promising ultrasonic energy converters for underwater and biomedical applications.

Optical soliton perturbation with the concatenation model: Semi-inverse variation.

open access: yes, 2023
This paper retrieves bright 1-soliton solution to the perturbed concatenation model by the application of the semi-inverse variational principle. The perturbation terms are from inter-modal dispersion and self-steepening effect that is considered with ...

Spectroscopic Investigation of Polysulfide Redox Evolution in Catholyte Solutions for Potassium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Potassium–sulfur batteries are investigated using UV–vis spectroscopy to track the evolution of potassium polysulfide species at elevated temperature. The study reveals sulfur radical anions as key intermediates and shows how solvent composition and cell design influence polysulfide stability, redox behavior, and cycling performance, providing insights

Long‐Range Coordination Environment Modulates Single‐Atom Local States and Systemic Impact on CO2 Photoconversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Terminal groups on Cu porphyrins modulate the electronic states of single‐atom Cu centers through a long‐range electronic effect, without altering the Cu coordination geometry. Meanwhile, a multi‐descriptor framework is established that incorporates porphyrin regulation, hybrid catalyst properties, and CO2 photoreduction capabilities.
