Pervaporation in chemical analysis

Journal of Chromatography A, 2010
Unlike thermal processes such as distillation, pervaporation relies on the relative rates of solute permeation through a membrane and is a combination of evaporation and gas diffusion. The analytical pervaporation systems consist of a membrane module suitable for liquid sample introduction and a vacuum (or a sweeping gas) on the permeate side.

Zeolite-Coated Ceramic Pervaporation Membranes; Pervaporation−Esterification Coupling and Reactor Evaluation

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2005
Pervaporation is a promising option to enhance conversion of reversible condensation reactions, generating water as a byproduct. The present study aims to develop a continuous composite catalytic pervaporation membrane reactor, as integration of reaction and separation offers advantages in terms of process efficiency and compactness.

Pressure-Driven Pervaporation

Separation Science and Technology, 1990
Abstract Pervaporation is a promising method for the fractionation, purification, and recovery of volatile liquids (1).Current interest in ethanol as a fuel and the possibility to obtain this fuel by biomass fermentation, which yields dilute (8–12% w/w) aqueous ethanol solutions, led to considerable research effort in ethanol purification and ...
