“We Live Subject to their Orders”: A Three-Province survey of Forced Child Labor in Uzbekistan’s 2008 Cotton Harvest [PDF]
This report highlights the continued use of forced child labor in the cotton industry in Uzbekistan in the fall 2008 harvest. While international pressure from retailers and consumers has had some effect in curbing forced child labor in the production of

Photo‐Switching Thermal and Lithium‐Ion Conductivity in Azobenzene Polymers
Light‐responsive azobenzene polymers control thermal and ionic transport simultaneously through structural transitions. UV illumination disrupts π–π stacking, converting crystalline trans states to amorphous cis configurations. Thermal conductivity drops from 0.45 to 0.15 W·m−1·K−1 while Li+ diffusivity increases 100 fold. This dual transport switching

Rate Loss Analysis of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface-Aided NOMA With Limited Feedback
The design of feedback channels in frequency division duplex (FDD) systems is a major challenge because of the limited available feedback bits. We consider non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems that incorporate reconfigurable intelligent surfaces

4D Printing of Self‐Immolative Polymers
The integration of self‐immolative polymers (SIPs) into light‐based 3D printed structures is presented as a new “living” 4D printing strategy. By exploiting their metastability and stimuli‐responsiveness, SIP‐containing printed objects can undergo rapid and triggered degrowth under ambient conditions and subsequent regrowth through polymer ...

Fluoride‐Free Adhesives for Low Surface Energy Fluorinated Substrates
A universal, fluoride‐free adhesive achieves a record 4.91 MPa bond strength on PTFE by leveraging amine/amide dipole–dipole interactions, without fluorinated components. This sustainable strategy overcomes the environmental and performance limits of PFAS‐based adhesives, enabling robust, eco‐conscious bonding across diverse materials.
