Liquid Crystalline Perylene Bisimide Assemblies

open access: yes, 2019

Yellow Light-Emitting Highly Soluble Perylene Bisimide Dyes by Acetalization of Bay-Hydroxy Groups

open access: yes
A new class of perylene bisimide (PBI) derivatives is introduced by bridging 1,12- and 1,6,7,12-hydroxy functionalized bay positions with oxygen–carbon–oxygen linker(s).

Dinaphthothiepine Bisimide and Its Sulfoxide: Soluble Precursors for Perylene Bisimide

open access: yesDinaphthothiepine Bisimide and Its Sulfoxide: Soluble Precursors for Perylene Bisimide
The synthesis and properties of dinaphtho[1,8-bc:1′,8′-ef]thiepine bisimide (DNTBI) and its oxides are described. Their molecular design is conceptually based on the insertion of a sulfur atom into the perylene bisimide (PBI) core. These sulfur-inserted PBI derivatives adopt nonplanar structures, which significantly increases their solubility in common

Photoinduced processes of functionalized perylene bisimides

open access: yes, 2004
Photoinduced electron transfer at the interface of a donor and acceptor material is the primary step in organic solar cells in which photons are used to create free charge carriers. Because the lifetime and diffusion length of photoexcitations in organic materials is limited, efficient charge separation can only be obtained when the electron donor and ...

Cooperative Binding and Chirogenesis in an Expanded Perylene Bisimide Cyclophane.

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society
The encapsulation of more than one guest molecule into a synthetic cavity is a highly desirable yet a highly challenging task to achieve for neutral supramolecular hosts in organic media.

Relaxation dynamics of higher excited states of perylene-substituted perylene bisimide derivatives.

The Journal of Chemical Physics
Stepwise two-photon absorption processes have received considerable attention, especially in photocatalysis, due to their relatively lower power threshold, characteristic spatial selectivity, amplification of chemical reactions, and so on.
