High Levels of Straying in Returning, Repeat‐Spawning Atlantic Salmon Between Two Neighbouring Danish Rivers

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
We studied the seaward and return migration of Atlantic salmon kelts from both wild and hatchery origin in River Skjern, Denmark. Of the 199 tagged animals, 110 reached the ocean (55%). Only 10 kelts were recorded returning after spending more than 1 year at sea.

Determining skin zone properties from injectivity tests in single- and multilayer reservoirs

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2019
This work proposes an interpretation technique for injectivity tests that provides a new estimation for skin zone permeability and radius in single-layer reservoirs. A means to compute the reservoir skin factor in multilayer commingled reservoirs is also

Comparative Analysis of Diet Quality, Iron Intake, and Supplementation Among Vegan and Omnivorous Amateur Runners Living in Urban Areas

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
In 100 amateur runners from Warsaw, Poland (vegan, lacto‐/ovo‐/pesco‐vegetarian, and omnivorous groups), plant‐based runners achieved dietary iron intakes comparable to or higher than omnivores (medians 20.5 and 19.97 vs. 13.21 mg/day; p < 0.001) and similar or better diet quality, as measured by the Pro‐Healthy Diet Index. Dietary supplement use (91.7%

Epistemic opacity in Antarctic science: Unknowing the last frontier

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 8, Issue 6, Page 1641-1647, June 2026.
Abstract Antarctica is facing intensifying pressures from climate change, industrial fishing, tourism and renewed geopolitical competition, even as scientific activity on the continent reaches unprecedented levels. We argue that this proliferation of research often fails to deliver the integrated, policy‐relevant knowledge needed for precautionary ...
