Pareto in Prison

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences &the Law, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Pareto principle is based on the concept that roughly 80% of outcomes are generated by 20% of inputs, efforts, or contributors within a group. Using a national sample of U.S. prison inmates, we examined various percentile rankings of self‐reported institutional misconduct to determine how much disorder is created behind bars by the most ...

Antibacterial Essential Oils as Adjuvants to Inhibit Antibiotic Resistance in Multi‐Resistant Bacteria.

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Accepted Article.
In order to contribute to the fight against the antibiotic resistance crisis, we used a dual‐activity prospection strategy for natural product mixtures with antibiotic resistance modulating and antibacterial activities in the essential oils (EOs) of Artemisia ludoviciana, Lippia graveolens and Cosmos bipinnatus against multidrug resistant strains of ...

Inhibition of Surfactin Biosynthesis in Bacillus Subtilis Using Cell‐Permeable Adenylation Domain Inhibitors

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
L‐Leu‐AMS‐based adenylation domain inhibitors with the modification of 2′‐OH in the adenosine skeleton are synthesized. Coupled with affinity‐based protein profiling of nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPSs), their activities toward surfactin‐NRPSs in Bacillus subtilis are evaluated.
