A Self‐Recognition Separator for Ion Management to Customize Selective Zn2+ Channels Toward Dendrite‐Free Zinc Metal Anodes

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A self‐recognition separator based on CAU‐17 is developed for ion management to achieve highly reversible Zn anodes that selectively repel SO42– ions and H2O molecules but facilitate Zn2+ conduction, leading to reduced side reactions and enhanced transport kinetics. ABSTRACT Aqueous zinc‐ion batteries (ZIBs) are promising candidates for next‐generation

Photoredox‐Catalyzed Hydroalkylation of C(sp3)–H Acids

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Accepted Article.
We present a detailed study on a photoredox catalysis platform that directly engages 1,3‐dicarbonyl C(sp3)–H acids towards radical reactions. This platform enables redox‐neutral hydroalkylation and cross‐coupling, as well as oxidative transformations that demonstrably improve on the prior state of the art.

Synthesis of C4‐Acyl Glycosides by Cross‐Ketonization: The Importance of Precise Temperature Control in Photochemistry

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Accepted Article.
We describe herein a method for the synthesis of reversed C‐acyl glycosides by direct cross‐ketonization of linear carboxylic acids with carboxy sugars under metallaphotoredox conditions. This reaction proves to be highly sensitive to reaction temperature, with the reproducibility and yield of ketonization highly dependent upon precise temperature ...
