Beyond Plasmonics: Atomic‐Scale SERS Platforms for Plasmon‐Free Photocatalysis Monitoring via Charge Transfer Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
This perspective discusses the charge transfer mechanism in single‐atom/small‐cluster SERS systems supported by semiconducting and metallic substrates. Integrating single‐atom/small‐cluster SERS with photocatalytic processes offers unprecedented opportunities for real‐time plasmon‐free reaction monitoring.

State of the Art of Low‐Frequency Acoustic Modulation: Intensity Enhancement and Directional Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High intensity low‐frequency sound sources hold significant value in many fields. However, their long wavelength, strong penetrability, and tendency to diffract make direction control and intensity enhancement challenging. Acoustic generators and metamaterial‐based acoustic devices still face issues such as low energy efficiency, poor directional ...

Farmers’ Criteria for Pesticide Selection and Use in the Pest Control Process

open access: yes, 2018
Chemical pesticides have been widely overused by farmers in Iran, but farmers’ criteria for pesticide selection and use are not well understood. A field survey of 411 farmers was carried out in Mazandaran, Iran, to study farmers’ criteria for selecting ...

Organic farming at local and landscape scales fosters biological pest control in vineyards.

open access: yesEcological Applications, 2018
While organic farming practices, which are often promoted as models of ecological intensification, generally enhance biodiversity, their effects on the delivery of ecosystem services, such as biological pest control, are still unknown.

JA‐Mediated Regulation of Amino Acid Homeostasis Adjusts Metabolic Flux and Enhances Spider Mite Tolerance via the SlJAZ8‐SlWRKY57‐SlAVT6s Module in Tomato

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates a novel SlJAZ8‐SlWRKY57‐SlAVT6A/SlAVT6B module that effectively channels metabolic flux from primary to secondary metabolism, impacting plant growth, development, and resistance. Two novel vacuolar amino acid exporters, SlAVT6A and SlAVT6B, fine‐tunes trichomes, terpenes, and gibberellins, bolstering spider mite resistance.

Pest Control in Organic Farming

open access: yes, 2019
Organic farming is an environmentally friendly farming system that produces food based on the ecological balance of ecosystems, preventing soil fertility decline or pest problems. It is a proactive alternate approach to intensive agriculture, minimizing its adverse effects and contributing to maintaining soil quality and enhancing biodiversity.
