Corn cob pyrolysis: A systematic literature review of methods and applications

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Mapping the research landscape of corn cob pyrolysis. Abstractas The agricultural sector is experiencing a surge in waste generation due to population growth, creating an urgent need to convert byproducts into value‐added products. Maize (Zea mays L.), a leading global crop, produces significant byproducts, such as corn cob, which are often undervalued.

Removal of benzotriazoles from domestic wastewater using Pleurotus ostreatus fungal pellets

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Removal of benzotriazoles from domestic wastewater using a fungal pellet reactor with Pleurotus ostreatus. The system effectively removed CBTR (70%), while BTR (19%), 5‐TTR (17%), and OH‐BTH (16%) showed moderate removal. Abstract Benzotriazoles are a group of persistent and mobile substances commonly found in aquatic environments due to inefficient ...

A novel magnetically separable pH sensitive surface‐active iron oxide nanoparticles for the removal of antibiotics (tetracycline) from aquatic environments

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Sources and distribution of antibiotic contamints in the environments. Abstract This research examines the application of magnetic iron‐oxide (Fe3O4) nanoparticles (IONPs) for the targeted removal and recovery of tetracycline (TC) from aqueous systems.

Rhamnolipid Self‐Aggregation in Water–Bioglycerol Mixtures: Byproduct Valorization for Sustainable Formulation Design

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
Bioglycerol, the primary byproduct of biodiesel production, has the potential to be valorized as a cosolvent in industrial formulations. Surface tension and self‐diffusion data reveal that rhamnolipid self‐aggregation in water is poorly affected by the addition of bioglycerol up to very high concentrations. These results demonstrate that biosurfactants
