Lattice‐Strained Cu2O‐Ni/NiO Heterostructure Enables Selective Electrocatalytic C–C Coupling of Alcohols to Cinnamaldehyde in Aqueous Medium

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study achieved the selective oxidation C–C coupling of PhCH2OH with EtOH to form cinnamaldehyde (CAL) on a designed Cu2O‐Ni/NiO heterojunction catalyst. By employing a salt precipitation strategy to balance the pH and cation concentration, an 86% conversion rate of PhCH2OH and a 67% high selectivity for CAL were realized.

The EU Deforestation Regulation: Challenges, Opportunities and the Potential Impacts on the Producing Countries of Cocoa and Coffee

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is a policy that prohibits access to the EU market for commodities that are linked to deforestation. We did a systematic review to understand perceived challenges, opportunities and potential impacts of the EUDR on producing countries of cocoa and coffee.

Cytotoxicity of 19 Pesticides in Rainbow Trout Gill, Liver, and Intestinal Cell Lines

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, EarlyView.
Abstract The rainbow trout gill cell line (RTgill‐W1), via test guideline 249 of the Organisation for Economic Co‐operation and Development, has been established as a promising New Approach Methodology, although to advance confidence in the method more case studies are needed that: 1) expand our understanding of applicability domains (chemicals with ...
