The effects of two pesticides on Clarias gariepinus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Bioassays were carried out to determine the toxicity of two pesticides, Roundup and Gramoxone on Clarias gariepinus. The acute toxicity of both pesticides decreased towards the end of the bioassay period.

Durable Physically Mixed Microporous and Mesoporous MOFs/Nanofiber Aerogel 3D Composites for Effective Toxic Gas Capture and Organophosphonate Detoxification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultralight 3D nanofibrous aerogels embedded with metal‐organic frameworks effectively capture and neutralize toxic gases and organophosphonates. Incorporating mesoporous UiO‐66‐NH2 and HKUST‐1 into PAN/PVP fibers enables high MOF loading while maintaining mechanical strength and structural stability.

Common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca L.) response to sulcotrione [PDF]

open access: yesPesticidi i Fitomedicina, 2017
A laboratory bioassay was conducted to investigate common milkweed response to sulcotrione. Sulcotrione was applied in concentration series of 0.15-0.90 kg a.i./ha without a surfactant and with Dash® at 1 L/ha.

Development of stimuli-responsive nano-based pesticides: emerging opportunities for agriculture

open access: yesJournal of Nanobiotechnology, 2019
Pesticides and fertilizers are widely used to enhance agriculture yields, although the fraction of the pesticides applied in the field that reaches the targets is less than 0.1%.

Advancing from MOFs and COFs to Functional Macroscopic Porous Constructs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review study investigates the recent progress and methodologies for manufacturing metal–organic framework (MOF) or covalent–organic framework (COF)‐based 3D structured macroscopic porous constructs with high structural integrity, providing the possibility to control their porosity across dimensions.

Ignoring Adjuvant Toxicity Falsifies the Safety Profile of Commercial Pesticides

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health, 2018
Commercial formulations of pesticides are invariably not single ingredients. Instead they are cocktails of chemicals, composed of a designated pesticidal “active principle” and “other ingredients,” with the latter collectively also known as “adjuvants ...

State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

Pesticides Classification and its Impact on Environment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Current Microbiology and Applied Sciences, 2019
Environmental pollution is a global phenomenon and the risks and outcomes on human health are a worrying factor. The present situation of pollution is a man-made calamity though the fact of benefit-risk ratio also needs to be weighed equally before ...
