Characteristics of a New Plastic Explosive Named EPX-1

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2015
EPX-1 is a new plastic explosive (in the research stage) which has been prepared for military and civilian applications. EPX-1 explosive contains pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) with different particle size as explosive filler bonded by nonenergetic ...

The hard start phenomena in hypergolic engines. Volume 5: RCS engine deformation and destruct tests [PDF]

open access: yes
Tests were conducted to determine the causes of Apollo Reaction Control (RCS) engine failures. Stainless steel engines constructed for use in the destructive tests are described. The tests conducted during the three phase investigation are discussed.

Prijelom petne kosti

open access: yes, 2017
Calcaneal fractures are uncommon, compromising 1-2% of all fractures and representing 60% of all tarsal fractures. Annual incidence is 11.5 per 100 000 and it's more common in men. The most usual mechanisam is axial loading of the foot caused from a fall. The fracture can be divided into two groups; intraarticular and extraarticular.

Aging of Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate (PETN)

open access: yes, 2009
Pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) is a relatively sensitive explosive used in many electroexplosive devices as well as in medicine. Of primary interest to LLNL is its use in items such as exploding bridgewire (EBW) detonators and exploding bridge foil initiators (EFI).
