Cargo proteins secreted by the Type IX Secretion System of Porphyromonas gingivalis were purified. After proteolysis and partial cleavage of their glycan portions, mass spectrometry analyses led to the identification of novel LPS constituents including a pentasaccharide that linked the cargo to the O‐polysaccharide.
