This study integrates and expands the U–Pb detrital zircon dataset from the Colton fluvial system to highlight spatial variations in provenance signals within the early Palaeogene infill of the south‐western Uinta Basin, in Utah. The provenance data sheds light on the origin of clastic sediment and on the relationship with potential palaeodrainage ...

For the comparison of lithofacies in siliciclastic, carbonate, and mixed siliciclastic‐carbonate tidal systems, three successions including Top Quartzite (Lower‐Middle Cambrian), Deranjal Formation (Upper Cambrian), and Padeha Formation (Lower‐Middle Devonian) in the north of Kerman and Tabas regions (SE and E central Iran) were selected and described,

ABSTRACT We present a mid‐Late Cretaceous to present day tectonic reconstruction model for Aotearoa‐New Zealand. Our GPlates model comprises 50 rigid crustal blocks grouped into regions with common deformation histories set within a well‐defined Australia‐Pacific‐Antarctica plate circuit tied to a published global paleomagnetic absolute reference frame.

Abstract Based on U‐Pb dating of zircon crystals and petrographic analysis, this study provides new insights into the paleogeographic and accretion evolution along SW Japan. Our data are consistent with an older submarine fan identified from drilling in the Shikoku Basin (Kyushu Fan ∼14.7–12.2 Ma), having a mixed sand provenance from the paleo‐Yangtze ...

Petrofacies Analysis—A Petrophysical Tool for Geologic/Engineering Reservoir Characterization
Abstract Petrofacies analysis is defined as the characterization and classification of pore types and fluid saturations as revealed by petrophysical measurements of a reservoir. The word “petrofacies” makes an explicit link between petroleum engineers' concerns with pore characteristics as arbiters of production performance and the ...

Porosity evolution and geometry in Santos Basin Aptian presalt petrofacies
ABSTRACT The presalt deposits from offshore southeastern Brazil account for approximately 3/4 of the total hydrocarbon production of the country. Consequently, they are the subject of various studies aimed at better understanding the primary and diagenetic controls on their reservoir quality.
