This paper summarizes the new results on the petrogenesis of Mesozoic granitoids and volcanic rocks in South China. The authors propose that these rocks were formed in time and space as a response to regional tectonic regime change from the continent ...

Cr-spinel records metasomatism not petrogenesis of mantle rocks
Mantle melts provide a window on processes related to global plate tectonics. The composition of chromian spinel (Cr-spinel) from mafic-ultramafic rocks has been widely used for tracing the geotectonic environments, the degree of mantle melting and the ...

Petrogenesis of the Platinum-Group Minerals [PDF]
The platinum-group minerals (PGM) are a diverse group of minerals that concentrate the platinum-group elements (PGE; Os, Ir, Ru, Rh, Pt, and Pd). At the time of writing, the International Mineralogical Association database includes 135 named discrete PGM phases.

Peixe Zircon as a Quality Control Reference Material in U‐Pb Geochronology by LA‐ICP‐MS
Key Points Peixe#0 zircon was characterised for U‐Pb geochronology using CA‐ID‐TIMS, SIMS and a long‐term LA‐ICP‐MS data set. The consistent results establish Peixe#0 as a reference material for U‐Pb quality control. Trace element heterogeneity requires careful, CL‐guided spot selection.

New data on composition of intrusive rocks from Shikotan island (Lesser Kuril Chain)
The article presents new petrologic and geochemical data on gabbroids from Shikotan Island (Lesser Kuril Chain). The results were compared with co-magmatic Late Cretaceous-Paleocene volcanics from the Zelenov Formation, as well as with the rocks from the

Abstract Angrite meteorites are critically silica‐undersaturated igneous rocks with high Ca/Al and Fe/Mg, along with depletion in volatile lithophile elements Na and K such that they crystallize anorthite along with olivine and calcic pyroxene. The anorthite in angrites contains substantial Fe, and in NWA 1670 and NWA 1296, it is present at major ...
