Thermal Expansion of Petroleum Coke
高温X線を用いて, 石油コークス (粉末) の c軸方向の熱膨張を室温より約 150℃ おきに 1050℃ まで測定した結果, 20℃ における熱膨張係数は, 熱処理温度の高くなるにつれて, 2.7×10-5 より 2.8×10-5 まで系統的に変化することがわかった。1℃ の温度上昇による層間距離の膨張は黒鉛化の進行にともないわずかに増大する。また, 20℃における熱膨張係数も黒鉛化の進行とともに増大し, 層間距離の変化ならびに結晶子の見かけの大きさの変化とよく対応している。すなわち, Co の6. 77Åまでの減少, Lc (002) の 350Åまでの増加にともない, 熱膨張係数は増大し, 6.77Å以下および 350Å以上では, 熱膨張係数はほぼ一定値を示した。
