PTC in the Polyenolate‐Mediated [10+2]‐Cycloaddition for the Synthesis of α,α‐Disubstituted Amino Acid Precursors

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Abstract The manuscript describes a formal [10+2] higher‐order cycloaddition between 2‐arylideneindan‐1‐ones and α‐alkylidene azlactones as higherene precursors and higherenofiles respectively. The reaction is realized under Brønsted‐base catalysis utilizing the phase transfer catalysis approach.

Synthesis of Unnatural Amino Acids via β‐Aminoaldehyde C–H Arylation using HAT‐Metallaphotoredox Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Abstract Unnatural amino acids play a crucial role in advancing protein engineering and drug development. In this study, we present the synthesis of a series of γ‐aryl‐keto‐α‐amino acids through the direct C−H arylation of readily accessible β‐aminoaldehydes and aryl bromides, promoted by hydrogen atom transfer combined with metallaphotoredox catalysis.

Photoinduced Catalytic Alkylation of Active Methine Compounds with Nonactivated Alkenes Using Yttrium Triflate as a Lewis Acid Catalyst

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Abstract Photoinduced catalytic alkylation reactions of active methine compounds with nonactivated alkenes have been developed using an organophotocatalyst, a metal Lewis acid, an arylthiol, and an amine base catalyst system. The alkylation reactions proceeded smoothly under ambient conditions with blue light irradiation, affording the desired products

Heterogeneously Catalyzed Cascade Oxidative Coupling/Dearomative Spirocyclization of Diarylamines: Facile Access to Spiroacridines

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Abstract Spirocyclic compounds, particularly spirocyclohexadienones, are important in pharmaceuticals due to their biological activity. In this study, we develop a catalytic cascade oxidative spirocyclization of diarylamines for the rapid access to highly functionalized spirocyclohexadienones. Using commercially available recyclable heterogeneous metal

Development of Pectin/Gelatin/Glutathione/Calcium Chloride Crosslinked Hybrid Composite Antioxidant Edible Coatings for the Preservation of Local Butter

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
Inspired from biomedical and pharmaceutical research, crosslinked pectin‐based edible composite coatings are developed for the preservation of butter. The developed coatings exhibit crosslinker calcium chloride dependent preservation response on coated butter over the 60 days storage period. Abstract Given the vulnerability of butter to rancidity there
