Hydroxychloroquine Associated With Lower Glomerular Filtration Rate Decline in Lupus Nephritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) protects kidney function in lupus nephritis (LN) by preventing flares, yet some cohort studies show no significant benefit in kidney function with HCQ. Clarifying these conflicting findings by showing early and long‐term benefits of HCQ on kidney function preservation is critical.

Investigation of the Reduction in Distributed Acoustic Sensing Signal Due to Perforation Erosion by Using CFD Acoustic Simulation and Lighthill’s Acoustic Power Law

open access: yesSensors
Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), widely adopted in hydraulic fracturing monitoring, continuously measures sound from perforation holes due to fluid flow through the perforation holes during fracturing treatment.

Understanding the Impact of Open-Framework Conglomerates on Water-Oil Displacements: Victor Interval of the Ivishak Reservoir, Prudhoe Bay Field, Alaska [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The Victor Unit of the Ivishak Formation in the Prudhoe Bay Oilfield is characterized by high net-to-gross fluvial sandstones and conglomerates. The highest permeability is found within sets of cross-strata of open-framework conglomerate (OFC).

Global and Regional Temporal Changes in Cross‐Country Inequalities of Site‐Specific Osteoarthritis Burden, 1990 to 2021

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study examined the global and regional temporal changes in cross‐country inequalities of site‐specific osteoarthritis (OA) burden from 1990 to 2021. Methods Age‐standardized years lived with disability rates (ASYRs) for site‐specific OA across 204 countries and territories were obtained from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and ...

Removing Homocoupling Defects in Alkoxy/Alkyl‐PBTTT Enhances Polymer:Fullerene Co‐Crystal Formation and Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...

Media education technologies in developing students' professional competence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
While pervasive healthcare systems bear the potential to provide patients with a new quality of medical homecare, the complexity of such systems raises fundamental questions of behavior, communication and technology acceptance.
