Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction Over BiOX on Needle Coke–Derived Graphene Composites

open access: yesCarbon and Hydrogen, EarlyView.
By in situ growing BiOX on needle coke–derived graphene to construct a composite photocatalyst, interfacial charge transfer is effectively enhanced. The optimized BiOBr‐25%NCG achieves a CO production rate of 46.32 μmol·g−1·h−1 from photocatalytic CO2 reduction without sacrificial agents.

Removal and biodegradation of different petroleum hydrocarbons using the filamentous fungus Aspergillus sp. RFC‐1

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, 2018
Petroleum pollution inevitably occurs at any stage of oil production and exerts a negative impact on the environment. Some microorganisms can degrade petroleum hydrocarbons (PHs).

Post‐Shaping Over‐Impregnation: A Facile Strategy for Pt‐KL Catalysts With Ultrahigh Metal Dispersion and Enhanced Aromatization Performance

open access: yesCarbon and Hydrogen, EarlyView.
A scalable post‐shaping strategy achieves precise Pt localization within KL zeolite, where optimized spatial distribution minimizes diffusion barriers to deliver superior n‐hexane aromatization activity, selectivity, and stability. ABSTRACT The precise localization of metal clusters within zeolite frameworks is critical for the aromatization catalysis.

Unlocking Enhanced Hydrogen Storage in Naphthalene via K‐Induced Acidity and Metal Dispersion in Dendritic Catalysts

open access: yesCarbon and Hydrogen, EarlyView.
Dendritic micro‐mesoporous composite catalysts through K‐induced enhancement of acidity and metal dispersion were developed. ABSTRACT Novel dendritic ZSM‐22/DMSNs (ZD) micro‐mesoporous composites with center–radial pore structure and suitable acidity were developed by nano‐assembly strategy. Subsequently, Pt/ZD‐K catalysts were synthesized based on the

Sunlight‐Driven Green Synthesis of Platinum Nanoparticles From Double‐Vacancy Halide Perovskite Precursors for Methanol Reforming

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The development of synthetic procedures for preparing metal nanoparticles with controlled size using sunlight opens new avenues toward more sustainable methods with lower energy consumption. Herein, we propose the use of double‐vacancy halide perovskites as precursors for engineering highly crystalline and small platinum nanoparticles (< 3 nm)

When Light Challenges Heat: Mechanistic Insights Into a Reaction Competing With Cadogan Cyclisation in Nitro‐Perylenediimides

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Visible‐light irradiation of nitro‐perylenediimide in the presence of triphenylphosphine reveals an unexpected pathway competing with the classical Cadogan cyclization. Mechanistic investigations uncover the rapid and selective formation of bay‐functionalized 1‐iminophosphorane‐12‐hydroxy perylenediimide derivatives.

Spatiotemporal variation of methane and other trace hydrocarbon concentrations in the valley of Mexico [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Mexico City is the world's largest and most polluted urban center. We examine the distribution of methane and other hydrocarbons within the Valley of Mexico, using it as a model for the role developing megacities will play in the next century of ...
