Deciphering Small Molecule Diffusion Parameters Across Light Responsive Polymersome Membranes
Light‐responsive polymersomes bearing donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASAs) enable programmable control over small‐molecule transport across synthetic membranes. By systematically varying DASA density, an optimal functionalization regime is identified that maximizes light‐gated permeability.

Treatment of Petroleum Refining and Other Energy-Intensive and Trade-Sensitive Industries in Pending National Climate Legislation [PDF]
One of the major issues confronting Congress as it deliberates about legislation to limit carbon dioxide and other greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions is the effect on international trade. If the U.S.

Effects of Molecular Designs and Double‐Network Morphologies for Bioadhesive Semiconductors
This study establishes molecular‐to‐mesoscale design rules for bioadhesive semiconducting polymers (BASCs). It identifies how side‐chain length, double‐network formation, and film thickness modulate adhesion strength and electronic performance, providing insight into the rational design of intrinsically adhesive semiconductors for stable and efficient ...

A New California Oil Boom? Drilling the Monterey Shale [PDF]
The Monterey Shale is a vast oil-bearing geologic formation stretching from Southern California almost as far north as San Francisco. The formation has largely been untapped due to its complexity and the challenges presented by the shale's unusual ...

Reprogrammable multi‐material smart textiles knitted from liquid crystal elastomer fibers undergo 2D and 3D deformation under thermal and photo stimuli. Circularly knitted tubular structures reversibly contract in radial and axial directions, enabling autonomous climbing, liquid release, and micro pumping.

This article presents a photo‐responsive nanoparticle platform that precisely triggers copper‐dependent cuproptotic cell death in (drug‐resistant) cancer cells. The system remains stable and inactive in the dark but releases cytotoxic species upon red‐light irradiation, achieving potent activity in drug‐resistant breast cancer cells.

Triblock Polymer Engineering Enables Hydration‐Rich, High‐Performance, Fouling‐Resistant Interfaces
A molecularly engineered triblock polymer (PHZ) rapidly reorganizes into a hydration‐rich interfacial layer on diverse surfaces, strongly suppressing hydrophobic attraction and fouling. The triblock polymer provides robust energy and steric barriers to oily foulants, enabling high‐performance antifouling at ultralow dosage.
