An Anti‐Myd88 Peptide Synergistically Enhances the Anti‐Inflammatory Effects of Extracellular Vesicles from Naïve Umbilical Cord MSC or HEK293F CD24 Overexpressing Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study confirms that extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) or HEK293F cells overexpressing CD24 have anti‐inflammatory effects in macrophages and monocytes. Further loading either of these EVs with an anti‐Myd88 peptide synergistically enhanced the anti‐inflammatory effects of the EVs.

Synthesis of a cross-linked polymer using a diallylammonium monomer containing 12-crown-4 motifs for the selective extraction of lithium ions

open access: yesScientific Reports
A new diallyl amine salt monomer (I) bearing Li+ chelating 12-Crown-4 ether motifs [(H2C = CHCH2)2NH+CH2-(12-C-4) Cl−] was synthesized. Monomer (I) under free radical cyclopolymerization and alternate copolymerization with SO2 afforded homo (II) and ...

Raman Marker Bands for In Situ Quality Control During Synthesis of 2D Conjugated Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The properties of 2D conjugated metal–organic frameworks (2D c‐MOFs) are related to their structure and are influenced by the synthesis conditions. Here, in situ, Raman and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) are used to determine Raman marker bands that characterise the reaction progress and yield of phthalocyanine‐based 2D Cu2[ZnPc‐O8] MOFs. Thus,

Production and Trade in Services by U.S. Multinational Firms [PDF]

open access: yes
Direct investment in foreign countries by U.S. goods industries represents a response to differences in labor costs to a much greater extent than the more rapidly growing investment by service industries.

PTAA/TPBi Host–Guest Engineering Enables High‐Brightness Yellow Carbon Dot Based Light‐Emitting Diodes through Electron Confinement

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
In this study, CDs are incorporated into polymer or small‐molecule host materials to improve the morphology of EML films, balance charge transport and distribution, thereby enhancing charge recombination efficiency and device performance. Devices using PTTAA as the hole transport layer and TPBi as the host material exhibit the highest efficiency ...

3D Printing of Highly Porous Polypropylene Separators for Lithium‐Ion Batteries Using Fused Deposition Modeling and Thermally Induced Phase Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the 3D printing of custom‐shaped battery separators using a polypropylene/paraffin wax composite filament. A post‐processing step creates porous structures by removing wax. The printed porous separators show promising mechanical and electrochemical performance, offering a pathway toward conformable battery designs.

Surface‐Mounted Metal‐Organic Framework for the Adsorption and Sensing of Monoaromatic Pollutants in Water Using Quartz Crystal Microbalance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A hydrophobic metal‐organic framework (UHMOF‐100) is grown on a quartz crystal microbalance sensor for the first time. The device enables real‐time, selective detection of monoaromatic BTEX pollutants in water, demonstrating a new strategy for creating robust chemical sensors for challenging environmental monitoring applications. Abstract Environmental
