Hydrogen Integration in Petroleum Refining

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2012
There is a worldwide trend towards the production of cleaner gasoline and diesel. Legislation is placing increasingly tight limits on the sulphur content of fuels. There is also a worldwide trend towards processing heavier crude oils This requires increased levels of hydroprocessing, which places increased demands on hydrogen supply in refineries.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Catalytic behavior of Pt nanoparticles dealuminated Y-zeolite for some n-alkane hydroisomerization

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2014
Dealuminated zeolite Y-supported platinum was prepared adopting two dealumination methods, viz. fast (1, 3 and 6 h) and slow method (18 h). The content of Pt was constant at 0.5 wt% in all investigated catalysts.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron
