The relevance of the research is caused by the need to clarify the absolute age and to study the features of petrology and geochemistry of moderately alkaline rocks – syenites and monzonites of the Siya-Ushpinsky interfluve in the northeastern Altai ...

Experimental constraints on amphibole stability in primitive alkaline and calc-alkaline magmas [PDF]
Equilibrium crystallization experiments were carried out on two primitive basaltic rocks (APR16: Na2O+K2O=4.40 wt%; CM42: Na2O+K2O=2.59 wt%) with the aim to investigate the amphibole stability in the differentiation processes at deep crustal level, of

Production of $^3$He in Rocks by Reactions Induced by Particles of the Nuclear-Active and Muon Components of Cosmic Rays: Geological and Petrological Implications [PDF]
The paper presents data on the production of the $^3$He nuclide in rocks under the effect of cosmic-ray particles. The origin of the nuclide in the ground in neutron- and proton-induced spallation reactions, reactions induced by high-energy muons, and negative muon capture reactions is analyzed.

Quantifying magma mixing with the Shannon entropy: application to simulations and experiments [PDF]
We introduce a new quantity to petrology, the Shannon entropy, as a tool for quantifying mixing as well as the rate of production of hybrid compositions in the mixing system. The Shannon entropy approach is applied to time series numerical simulations and high-temperature experiments performed with natural melts.

What can we learn from melt inclusions in migmatites and granulites? [PDF]
With less than two decades of activity, research on melt inclusions (MI) in crystals from rocks that have undergone crustal anatexis \u2013 migmatites and granulites \u2013 is a recent addition to crustal petrology and geochemistry.

Hidden water in magma ocean exoplanets [PDF]
We demonstrate that the deep volatile storage capacity of magma oceans has significant implications for the bulk composition, interior and climate state inferred from exoplanet mass and radius data. Experimental petrology provides the fundamental properties on the ability of water and melt to mix.
