Diffusion between the Neurohypophysis and the Adenohypophysis of Lampreys, Petromyzon marinus
General and Comparative Endocrinology, 1994Horseradish peroxidase (HRP), a protein that can be visualized by appropriate histochemical procedures, was injected into the third ventricle of the brain of adult lampreys, Petromyzon marinus. Within 5 to 15 min HRP had passed through the neurohypophysis, which forms the floor of the third ventricle.

Epinephrine biosynthesis in Petromyzon marinus (cyclostoma) and salimo gairdneri (teleost)
Comparative and General Pharmacology, 1972Abstract 1. 1. High values for phenylethanolamine- N -methyl transferase activity are found in the heart of Petromyzon marinus ; they indicate a rapid methylation of norepinephrine in this tissue. This is consistent with a high epinephrine/total catecholamines ratio.

Initiation of Sea Lamprey (Petromyzon marinus) Control
Journal of the Fisheries Research Board of Canada, 1976Sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus) control became a major undertaking, relative to many other programs in aquatic biology. In several respects, the history of the program, outlined here, provides an informative prototype that might be usefully considered by aquatic biologists. F. E. J. Fry played an influential role in the development of the program.
