An integrated approach to reservoir petrophysical parameters evaluation [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Malaysia, 1991
Petrophysical parameters necessary for reservoir characterisation are normally derived from borehole data. Such information can be very accurate in the depth direction but has a small lateral penetration. Surface seismic, on the other hand, has low vertical resolution but is laterally continuous.

Developed correlations between sound wave velocity and porosity, permeability and mechanical properties of sandstone core samples

open access: yesPetroleum Research, 2020
In the evaluation of a petroleum reserve, it is necessary to accurately determine certain petrophysical properties such as porosity and permeability of the reservoir rocks and rock mechanical properties.

A Review on Models for Evaluating Rock Petrophysical Properties

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, 2023
The evaluation of subsurface formations as applied to oil well drilling started around 50 years ago. Generally, the curent review articule includes all methods for coring, logging, testing, and sampling. Also the methods for deciphering logs and laboratory tests that are relevant to assessing formations beneath the surface, including a look at the ...

PETROPHYSICAL EVALUATION OF WELL LOG DATA TO ANALYSE RESERVOIR PROPERTIES IN OGBA FIELD, NIGER DELTA, NIGERIA [PDF]

open access: yesGeological Behavior
This study evaluates the petrophysical characteristics of Ogba Field in the Niger Delta Basin, Nigeria, using well log data (gamma ray, resistivity, neutron, and density logs) from two wells (Ogba-1 and Ogba-2) and core data from Ogba-4ST.

Evaluation of mineralogy per geological layers by Approximate Bayesian Computation

open access: yes, 2019
We propose a new methodology to perform mineralogic inversion from wellbore logs based on a Bayesian linear regression model. Our method essentially relies on three steps.
