Petrophysical parameters estimation based on the weighted statistical method of elastic parameters

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2013, 2013
Summary Variation in petrophysical parameters are accompanied by that in elastic parameters. The relationship between the petrophysical parameters and elastic parameters can be established by the statistical rock physics model with highly nonlinear, explicit physical meaning which has considered the effect of noise.

Fast probabilistic inversion of seismic attributes for petrophysical parameters

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2011, 2011
We applied a fast probabilistic inversion technique based on neural networks to predict 3D petrophysical properties from inverted pre-stack seismic data. The objective of petrophysical inversion is to estimate the joint probability density function (PDF) of model vectors consisting of porosity, clay content, and water saturation components at each ...

Predicting Petrophysical Parameters in a Fuzzy Environment

2002
This paper concerns with the use of fuzzy models to predict petrophysical rock properties. Fuzzy models can approximate any continuous function with any degree of accuracy by covering its graph with a finite number of fuzzy patches. Every patch is identified with a fuzzy If-Then rule which describes a local input-output relationship between the ...

Study of petrophysical parameter sensitivity from well log data

Applied Geophysics, 2007
Proper analysis of petrophysical parameter sensitivity from well log data can greatly improve the ability to discriminate hydrocarbon-bearing rocks. In this paper we discuss a petrophysical analysis method for the selection and application of higher sensitivity seismic attribute parameters to improve the ability to discriminate fluid and lithology.

PEREGRINO ROCK TYPES: AN ALTERNATIVE FOR PETROPHYSICAL PARAMETERS DISTRIBUTION

2022
THE CREATION OF ROCK TYPES IS A PROCESS THAT MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO RELATE GEOLOGICAL FACIES AND PETROPHYSICAL PROPERTIES IN OIL RESERVOIRS. ROCK TYPES MUST ALSO CORRESPOND TO THE DYNAMIC BEHAVIOR OF ROCKS, CONTROLLED BY TEXTURAL FEATURES SUCH AS POROSITY TYPE AND PORE SPACE DISTRIBUTION (PORE THROAT). ROCK TYPES INTERPRETED FROM ELECTRICAL LOG RESPONSES

Study on Petrophysical Parameters Testing Technology for Loose Rock

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
Petrophysical parameters are not only concerned with grain size, but also with the cementation degree. Therefore, it is difficult to determine the petrophysical parameters for the loose core using traditional testing technique. This paper discussed the influence of freeze-sampled loose rock on the test result of rock porosity and permeability.

Low-Dimensional Tensor Representations for the Estimation of Petrophysical Reservoir Parameters

SPE Reservoir Simulation Conference, 2017
Abstract In this work, the application of tensor methodologies for computer-assisted history matching of channelized reservoirs is explored. A tensor-based approach is used for the parameterization of petrophysical parameters to reduce the dimensionality of the parameter estimation problem. Building on the work of Afra and Gildin (2013);

The Influence of Pore Coordination on Petrophysical Parameters

SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1981
ABSTRACT Using simple models of pore systems in conjunction with percolation theory concepts, relationships between the residual oil saturation at very low flooding rates and three petrophysical parameters, the porosity, the formation resistivity factor and Archie's lithologic exponent are found.

Evaluation of Petrophysical Parameters from Micrometer Resolved CT Data

Proceedings, 2015
The portfolio of methods for pore level characterization of reservoir rocks has significantly advanced over the last decade with the advent of micron and submicron resolution computed tomography methods. This in combination with image processing software for integration of CT data with results from scanning electron microscopy measurements and ...

Prediction of Petrophysical Parameters Based on Digital Video Core Images

SPE Reservoir Evaluation & Engineering, 1998
Summary Core-slab photography is a common way to document geological information from cores. Past practice has been to photograph core slabs with ordinary cameras that produce paper photographs. The presented method retrieves petrophysical properties from high-resolution digital video core images.
