The Influence of Pore Coordination on Petrophysical Parameters

SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1981
ABSTRACT Using simple models of pore systems in conjunction with percolation theory concepts, relationships between the residual oil saturation at very low flooding rates and three petrophysical parameters, the porosity, the formation resistivity factor and Archie's lithologic exponent are found.

Evaluation of Petrophysical Parameters from Micrometer Resolved CT Data

Proceedings, 2015
The portfolio of methods for pore level characterization of reservoir rocks has significantly advanced over the last decade with the advent of micron and submicron resolution computed tomography methods. This in combination with image processing software for integration of CT data with results from scanning electron microscopy measurements and ...

Prediction of Petrophysical Parameters Based on Digital Video Core Images

SPE Reservoir Evaluation & Engineering, 1998
Summary Core-slab photography is a common way to document geological information from cores. Past practice has been to photograph core slabs with ordinary cameras that produce paper photographs. The presented method retrieves petrophysical properties from high-resolution digital video core images.

Amplitude vs. Angle — Influence of petrophysical parameters in porous media

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 1998, 1998
The availability and use of seismic data in reservoir development is increasing. This paper describes the analysis of reflections, for elastic and porous medium considering variations in the petrophysical parameters of porosity, permeability and viscosity.

Rock-Fabric, Petrophysical Parameters, and Classification

1999
The goal of reservoir characterization is to describe the spatial distribution of petrophysical parameters such as porosity, permeability, and saturation. Wireline logs, core analyses, production data, pressure buildups, and tracer tests provide quantitative measurements of petrophysical parameters in the vicinity of the wellbore.

Seismic facies-controlled prestack simultaneous inversion of elastic and petrophysical parameters for favourable reservoir prediction

Exploration Geophysics, 2017
Comprehensive utilisation of elastic and petrophysical parameters to predict favourable reservoirs can help reduce the possibility of misidentification of resources.

Simultaneous inversion of petrophysical parameters based on Metropolis sampling algorithm

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2014, 2014
Summary Simultaneous inversion of petrophysical parameters based on Metropolis sampling algorithm is formulated in the Bayesian framework, combining statistical petrophysics with the geostatistical priori information. Firstly, we can get the geostatistical priori information through Fast Fourier Transform- Moving Average (FFT-MA) and Gradual ...

Carbonate Petrophysical Parameters Derived from 3D Images (Best of AAPG)

71st EAGE Conference and Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2009, 2009
Carbonate rocks are extremely diverse and their pore spaces complex and heterogeneous. Large uncertainties in the petrophysical properties of carbonates are due to wide variations in pore type, pore shape and interconnectivity.

Permeability relation with other petrophysical parameters for periodic porous media

GEOPHYSICS, 1999
We modeled permeability (k) estimation based on porosity (ϕ), electrical formation factor (F), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxation time (T), using periodic structures of touching and overlapping spheres. The formation factors for these systems were calculated using the theory of bounds of bulk effective conductivity for a two‐component ...

Simultaneously Estimate Petrophysical Parameters and Average Mud-filtrate Invasion Rates

71st EAGE Conference and Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2009, 2009
A 2.5D inversion approach is introduced for interpreting the induction logging data. The inversion is constrained by using a multiphase fluid-flow model which simulates the mud-filtrate invasion process and calculates the spatial distribution of the ...
