Analysis of Petrophysical Parameter on Shaly Sand Reservoir by Comparing Conventional Method and Shaly Sand Method in Vulcan Subbasin, Northwest Australia

open access: yesJGEET: Journal of Geoscience, Engineering, Environment and Technology, 2023
Vulcan Subbasin is an area with a lot of oil and gas exploration where is located in the Bonaparte Basin, Northwest Australia. There is some formation identified as sandstone reservoir with clay content which is usually called shaly sand based on the ...

ON PETROPHYSICAL PARAMETERS’S RELATIONS IN FRACTAL MEDIUM

open access: yesInterexpo GEO-Siberia, 2019
Features of influence of fractal characteristics of the environment on interrelation of petrophysical parameters in heterogeneous fluid-saturated medium on the example of the collection of core samples from the productive horizons of the Devonian and of ...

New knowledge about shock events that affected the L‐chondrite parent body from two heavily shocked L6 meteorite finds

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract We report new results from a study of shock‐related features in the L6 ordinary chondrites Northwest Africa (NWA) 4672 and NWA 12841. Our observations confirm the occurrence of eight high‐pressure (HP) minerals in each meteorite, namely, ringwoodite, majorite, akimotoite, wadsleyite, albitic jadeite, lingunite, tuite, and xieite.

Borehole Geophysical Joint Inversion to Fully Evaluate Shaly Sandstone Formations

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Simultaneous inversion of sonic, density, and electrical resistivity borehole-derived well logs, has been addressed in literature in recent years. However, this problem is not broadly studied for dual-porosity sandstone formations.

Micro-computed tomography pore-scale study of flow in porous media: Effect of voxel resolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A fundamental understanding of flow in porous media at the pore-scale is necessary to be able to upscale average displacement processes from core to reservoir scale. The study of fluid flow in porous media at the pore-scale consists of two key procedures:

Petrophysical parameters of rocks of the Visean stage (Lokhvytsky zone of the Dnieper-Donets Depression)

open access: yesGeofizicheskiy Zhurnal, 2019
The results of complex investigations of petrophysical properties of the Visean rocks from wells in Lokhvytsky zone of the DDD (sandstones and siltstones from depths 5060―5600 m and limestones from depths 5960―6200 m) are presented.

Magnetotelluric Exploration of Zn Pb Mineralization in Stonepark, Irish Midlands

open access: yesGeophysical Prospecting, Volume 74, Issue 4, May 2026.
ABSTRACT To meet the increasing demand for raw materials and to foster the energy transition, advances in exploration techniques are required that extend capabilities to deeper and/or more densely populated areas while having a low environmental and societal impact.

Hydro‐Mechanical Controls on Swarm Recurrence on the Westernmost Gofar Transform Fault, East Pacific Rise

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 7, 16 April 2026.
Abstract Swarms are microearthquake clusters governed by aseismic deformation, fluid migration, and stress changes, but the underlying mechanisms for their recurrence remain elusive. In 2008, abundant swarms were observed on the westernmost Gofar transform fault.
