Integrated Lithofacies and Petrophysical Properties Simulation
SPE Western Regional Meeting, 1997Abstract This paper presents a new procedure that simultaneously generates consistent distributions of categorical lithofacies and continuous petrophysical properties, i.e., porosity and permeability. The technique used is the conditional simulation method which is capable of honoring the original distribution of ...

Petrophysical Properties of Seals
AAPG Bulletin, 1991Seals are defined as generally ductile rocks with a very high capillary entry pressure that can dam up hydrocarbons. Petrophysical and petrographic studies of conventional and sidewall cores from known seal-reservoir couplets of hydrocarbon-producing reservoirs provide a basis to quantify the capacity of a rock to seal a hydrocarbon column.

A GENETIC APPROACH TO THE PREDICTION OF PETROPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Journal of Petroleum Geology, 1994The importance of the flow unit approach to reservoir description has been recognised recently, but its application to predict porosity, permeability and water saturation from well logs has not been attempted in previous studies. This Paper describes a genetic approach to reservoir description, which combines lithofacies analysis with discriminant ...

Petrophysical properties of Quaternary lavas of Spitsbergen
Russian Journal of Earth Sciences, 2003The chemical and mineralogical composition, structure and petrophysical properties of volcanic rocks, composing three Quaternary volcanoes of Spitsbergen island - Sverrefjellet, Halvdanpiggen and Sigurdfjellet - have been studied and compared. The sharp tendency of basalts elastic properties' change in a row of volcanism "rejuvenation" - Sigurdfjellet —

The principal goal of reservoir characterization is to construct three- and fourdimensional images of petrophysical properties. The purpose of this chapter is to review basic definitions and laboratory measurements of the petrophysical properties porosity, permeability, relative permeability, capillarity, and saturation.

Electrical and Petrophysical Properties of Carbonate Rocks
SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1991ABSTRACT Electrical and other petrophysical properties were measured in the laboratory versus pressure in 54 carbonate core samples from 11 oil-producing reservoirs. The measured electrical and petrophysical properties include formation factor F, cementation exponent m, and saturation exponent n, porosity φ, permeability K, grain density
