Mitochondrial haplotype and sex modulate responses to endurance exercise training
The Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.Abstract figure legend Using OKC‐HETB/W rats we demonstrate that mitochondrial haplotype influences training responses of endurance exercise. Overall OKC‐HETW rats showed greater responses than OKC‐HETB in exercise tolerance, mitochondrial bioenergetics, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) mutation frequencies and motor co‐ordination.
