Evaluate Sequential Interventions for Adaptive Water Management in Large River Basins

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Integrated River Basin Management (IRBM) and Adaptive Water Management (AWM) have been widely promoted as guiding principles, yet their practical realization at the basin scale remains difficult and underutilized. Sequential Interventions (SIs), stepwise actions applied in a predefined sequence at designated decision points, offer a practical ...

Analysis of Nonstationary Change of Annual Maximum Level Records in the Yangtze River Estuary

open access: yesAdvances in Meteorology, 2016
Under the impact of climate change and human activities, the stationarity of hydrometeorological extreme value series has been losing in many regions, which makes occurrence rules of hydrometeorological extreme events more complicated. In this study, the

Sugar provisioning increases parasitoid numbers in agroecosystems but may not reduce pest densities: A meta‐analysis

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 5, May 2026.
Our findings demonstrate that providing sugar sources reliably supports parasitoid populations and parasitism rate but does not systematically translate into improved pest suppression or yield gains. These results suggest that, for economic and practical reasons, sugar inputs at the edge of cultivated fields should be favoured.

Analysis of the Contribution Rate of Climate Change and Anthropogenic Activity to Runoff Variation in Nenjiang Basin, China

open access: yesHydrology, 2017
The Pettitt abrupt change test method based on ArcGIS was used to undertake change-point analysis on climatic (precipitation and potential evapotranspiration; 39 meteorological stations) and runoff data (27 hydrological stations) from 1954–2015 in the ...

A novel approach for distinguishing noise and information in forest MLS‐point clouds

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1595-1605, May 2026.
Abstract 3D laser scanning is a cornerstone of modern forest and ecological research, allowing detailed insight into forest structures and dynamics. Although point cloud processing and noise management are crucial steps in the exploitation of LiDAR data, traditional denoising methods are usually based on the assumption of a Gaussian noise distribution,

Integrated traditional and graphical non-parametric trend analysis of annual, monsoon and crop seasonal rainfall over Amaravathi Basin, South-India

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Rainfall trend variability is a critical factor for assessing the evidence of climate change. In this study, long-term rainfall trends were analyzed for the period 1985–2020 using the Pettitt test, the traditional Mann-Kendall (MK) and Sen’s Slope (SS ...

Detecting Critical Change in Dynamics Through Outlier Detection with Time‐Varying Parameters

open access: yesBritish Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, Volume 79, Issue 2, Page 237-262, May 2026.
Abstract Intensive longitudinal data are often found to be non‐stationary, namely, showing changes in statistical properties, such as means and variance‐covariance structures, over time. One way to accommodate non‐stationarity is to specify key parameters that show over‐time changes as time‐varying parameters (TVPs). However, the nature and dynamics of

Non-parametric tests applied to reported cases of dengue in the southeast region of Brazil

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2018
Dengue is one of the biggest problems of global public health in developing and underdeveloped countries. Nowadays, researchers in climate changes are concerned about the impact of these changes on human health, particularly with increased this epidemic.

The Implication of Climate Signal for Precipitation in the Heihe River Basin, Northwest China

open access: yesAdvances in Meteorology, 2016
This paper studies the stochastic dynamic variability of precipitation, for the upper, middle, and lower reaches of the Heihe River basin in Northwest China, by employing Mann-Kendall statistic, Pettitt test, and wavelet transform methods.
