ON THE STABILITY OF A FUNCTIONAL EQUATION OF PEXIDER TYPE

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Mathematics, 2007
We study the Hyers-Ulam stability of a functional equation of Pexider type associated with a functional equation $f(xy)=xf(y)+f(x)y$ which defines derivations in algebras.

Quasi‐homogeneous associative functions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 21, Issue 2, Page 351-357, 1998., 1997
A triangular norm is a special kind of associative function on the closed unit interval [0, 1]. Triangular norms (or t‐norms) were introduced in the context of probabilistic metric space theory, and they have found applications also in other areas, such as fuzzy set theory.

On Hyers-Ulam stability of the Pexider equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Let (S, +) be a commutative semigroup and let X be a sequentially complete linear topological Hausdorff space. In the theory of functional equations the problem of the stability (in a sense) has been considered by many authors.

NOTE ON JENSEN AND PEXIDER FUNCTIONAL EQUATIONS

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 1999
The Jensen functional equation \[ 2f\left({x+y \over 2}\right) =f(x)+f(y) \tag{1} \] is solved in the case where \(f:M\to S\), \(M\) is an Abelian semigroup with the division by \(2,S\) is an abstract convex cone satisfying the cancellation law. The result when applied to a set-valued version of (1) (where \(f\) takes values from the set \(ccl(X)\) of ...

Asymptotic behaviour of the solution of a functional-differential equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
The asymptotic behaviour as t→∞ of the solution of the functional- differential equation y'(t) = -y(t/k), with y(0) = 1 and k > 1 , is derived from an integral representation by the method of steepest descents.

On a functional equation of Pexider type

open access: yesAequationes Mathematicae, 1988
The author proves that the only solutions of the functional equation (all functions are from \({\mathbb{C}}\) to \({\mathbb{C}})\) \[ | f(z+w)|^ 2+| g(z-w)|^ 2=| h(z+\bar w)|^ 2+| k(z-\bar w)|^ 2, \] where - indicates complex conjugate, in which f, g, h, k are entire, are f, g, h, k all linear or f, g, h, k all linear combinations of \(e^{\lambda z ...
