Collagenase treatment does not impair fiber contractile function in muscle biopsies from children with cerebral palsy

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 13, Issue 21, November 2025.
Abstract Cerebral palsy (CP) often presents with increased passive stiffness of the skeletal muscles, primarily due to increased collagen in the extracellular matrix. Collagenase from Clostridium histolyticum (CCH), an enzyme that degrades collagen, is used clinically to treat fibrotic conditions such as Dupuytren's contracture and Peyronie's disease ...

Solvent‐Free Mechanocatalytic Reduction of Nitro Compounds with Hydrogen Gas and its Application in the Synthesis of Drugs and their Intermediates

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 367, Issue 19, October 15, 2025.
A solvent‐free mechanochemical reduction of nitro compounds using hydrogen gas is presented. In addition to enabling the synthesis of a variety of functionalized aniline derivatives, the method has been scaled up to gram quantities, evaluated for trace metal impurities, and applied to the synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds and their precursors.
