The new taxon Luteoamylascus aculeatus described in this article is proposed to accommodate two collections of a hypogeous ascomycete from central Spain, characterized by a tomentose yellowish peridium, labyrinth-like gleba filled with whitish hyphae, and intensely reacting amyloid asci.

Mycotaxon, 2008Two truffle species, Tuber excavatum and T borchii var. sphaerospermum, were collected and recorded for the first time in China. The morphology and distribution of each species is described and the relationship of related species is discussed.
