The taxonomy of the Phanerochaete sordida group is revised based on morphological and DNA studies of collections from the temperate zone of Eurasia. P. sordida sensu typi is predominantly a gymnosperm-dwelling species having long, tubular, apically thin-walled and non-encrusted cystidia and narrowly ellipsoid or thick cylindrical basidiospores.

Phanerochaete chrysosporium Genomics
2005A high quality draft genome sequence has been generated for the lignocellulose-degrading basidiomycete Phanerochaete chrysosporium ( Martinez et al. 2004 ). Analysis of the genome in the context of previously established genetics and physiology is presented.

Phanerochaete chrysosporium AS a Biocatalyst in Bioremediation Option
1995Biological treatment has been widely used for many years in the treatment of industrial and municipal waste water, with aerobic treatment being the most widely used technology. However as industrial contaminants have been developed to provide resistance in the environment and in conjunction with the low level of concentration both in ground water as ...

Chlorophenol degradation by Phanerochaete chrysosporium
Bioresource Technology, 1997Degradation of chlorophenols by P. chrysosporium in static cultures has been studied. The influences of mycelium acclimation, co-substrate concentration and nitrogen source on phenol degradation were analyzed. With non-acclimated mycelium the maximal concentrations degraded were 150 ppm of o-chorophenol and 100 ppm of the isomers m- and p-chlorophenol.

Production of Phanerochaete chrysosporium lignin peroxidase
Biotechnology Advances, 1992Liginin peroxidase (ligninase) of the white rot fungus Phanerochaete chrysosporium Burdsall was discovered in 1982 as a secondary metabolite. Today multiple isoenzymes are known, which are often collectively called as lignin peroxidase. Lignin peroxidase has been characterized as a veratryl alcohol oxidizing enzyme, but it is a relatively unspecific ...

Biodegradation of sulfamethoxazole by Phanerochaete chrysosporium
Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2014Abstract Degradation of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) by the white-rot fungus Phanerochaete chrysosporium was assessed. P. chrysosporium had a stronger tolerance for SMX in the concentration range of 10–30 mg L − 1 . The degradation percentage of SMX in liquid medium was 53% after 24 h and reached 74% after 10 days when SMX was added at 10 mg L − 1 ...

Microtubule bundles in Phanerochaete velutina
Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1985Ultrastructural examination of Phanerochaete velutina revealed large bundles of tightly-packed microtubules running along the longitudinal axis of the hyphal compartments. Between 40 and 750 individual microtubules, aligned in a parallel fashion, comprised each bundle.

Degradation of lignin by Phanerochaete chrysosporium

Isolation and characterization of an endopolygalacturonase from Phanerochaete chrysosporium
Journal of Biotechnology, 1993Abstract An extracellular endopolygalacturonase from extracts of solid-state cultures of Phanerochaete chrysosporium was purified to homogeneity as judged by electrophoresis under denaturing conditions. The purified enzyme preparation is a single subunit glycoprotein with an Mr value of 41 700 and is comprised of three isoenzymes with pI values of 4 ...

A Novel Carrier forPhanerochaete chrysosporiumImmobilization
Artificial Cells, Blood Substitutes, and Biotechnology, 2004Phanerochaete chrysosporium BKMF-1767 cells were immobilized on different carriers. The optimum carrier according to adsorbed P. chrysosporium cells number (86.38%) was determined to be polystyrene foam, a novel carrier. The conditions for the immobilization of cells on polystyrene foam were optimized and determined as 50 rpm, 37 degrees C, and 2h. The
