Colon‐Targeted Natural Polysaccharide‐Berberine Armored Hydrogel for the Treatment of Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In this research, a novel hydrogel system targeting the colon is developed, incorporating Rhubarb polysaccharides and berberine‐loaded dendrimer. This hydrogel, forms through intermolecular hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions, accumulates in colonic tissues, effectively alleviating pathological immune hyperactivation while modulating gut ...

Covalent Binding of Dexamethasone to Polyimide Improves Biocompatibility of Neural Implantable Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The covalent binding of dexamethasone to the surface of polyimide represents the electrically inert part of implantable intraneural devices. This ensures a sustained release of the drug for 9 weeks. In vitro and in vivo tests confirm the reduction of the foreign body reactions and the improved biocompatibility of dexamethasone functionalized polyimide.

The Effectiveness of Mirror Therapy in the Treatment of Post-Amputation Phantom Limb Pain [PDF]

open access: yes
Background: There are an estimated 1.6 million people living with a limb amputation in the U.S. Approximately 50-80% of amputees suffer phantom limb pain (PLP), which is pain felt in the absence of a limb that may manifest as stabbing, burning, throbbing
