Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Percentile-specific computational phantoms constructed from ICRP mesh-type reference computational phantoms (MRCPs).

open access: yes, 2019
Recently, the Task Group 103 of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) has developed new mesh-type reference computational phantoms (MRCPs) for adult male and female. When compared to the current voxel-type reference computational

Evaluation of a novel contrast‐enhanced fluoroscopy protocol for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography in a phantom model (with video)

open access: yesDEN Open
Objectives This study evaluated a novel contrast‐enhanced (CE) fluoroscopy protocol for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, which optimizes image processing to enhance contrast of devices and contrast media.

Feasibility of Photoplethysmography in Detecting Arterial Stiffness in Hypertension

open access: yesPhotonics
Asymptomatic peripheral artery disease (PAD) poses a silent risk, potentially leading to severe conditions if undetected. Integrating new screening tools into routine general practitioner (GP) visits could enable early detection.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Characterizing Viscoelastic Polyvinyl Alcohol Phantoms for Ultrasound Elastography

open access: yes, 2023
Ultrasound phantoms mimic the acoustic and mechanical properties of native tissues. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) phantoms are used extensively as models for validating ultrasound elastography approaches.
