Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

A new mini-navigation tool allows accurate component placement during anterior total hip arthroplasty. [PDF]
Introduction: Computer-assisted navigation systems have been explored in total hip arthroplasty (THA) to improve component positioning. While these systems traditionally rely on anterior pelvic plane registration, variances in soft tissue thickness ...

Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Feasibility of Photoplethysmography in Detecting Arterial Stiffness in Hypertension
Asymptomatic peripheral artery disease (PAD) poses a silent risk, potentially leading to severe conditions if undetected. Integrating new screening tools into routine general practitioner (GP) visits could enable early detection.

There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

Automated size-specific dosimetry for chest posterior–anterior projection radiography
IntroductionChest radiography is a frequently performed examination, and therefore, accurate patient dosimetry is important. One means of increasing dosimetric accuracy is through the use of size-specific dosimetry, and the aim of this work was to ...

Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important
