Morphological variability of the leaf epidermis in selected taxa of the genus Ficus L. (Moraceae) and its taxonomic implications [PDF]
The leaf epidermis of 36 taxa (species, subspecies, varieties and cultivars) of the genus Ficus (subgenera Ficus, Synoecia, Sycomorus, Pharmacosycea and Urostigma) was observed under LM and SEM.

How relevant is the relationship between ostiole size and wasp head shape in the Ficus-Agaonidae mutualistic interaction? [PDF]
The mutualism between Ficus species (Moraceae) and their pollinating wasps (Agaonidae) is a widely recognized coevolutionary model. In Ficus species from the Paleotropic, it has been determined that the ostiole acts as a morphological filter that ...

Field sampling of fig pollinator wasps across host species and host developmental phase: Implications for host recognition and specificity. [PDF]
We sampled fig‐pollinating wasp individuals in a natural Neotropical Ficus community, at different phases of the reproductive cycle of the host figs (e.g., trees with receptive inflorescences, or vegetative trees, bearing only leaves), and compared with other tree species, using them as non‐Ficus controls.

Rising temperatures threaten pollinators of fig trees-Keystone resources of tropical forests. [PDF]
We determine the effect of the predicted temperature increases on the lifespan of five different Neotropical fig wasps. All tested pollinator wasp species had a significantly shorter lifespan in 30, 32, 34 and 36°C compared to the current diurnal mean temperature of 26°C.

The aim object of this work was to study five Tetrapus wasps, whose females have two mandibular appendages and hexapodous males, their fig host association and phylogenetic position in the family Agaonidae. The question of which group of fig pollinating wasps and associated figs are the sister to the rest of the pollinating agaonids and figs ...

Sources of variation in plant chemical diversity: Lessons from Malagasy Ficus. [PDF]
Abstract Premise Plants produce a tremendous variety of secondary compounds that are crucial to interspecific and intraspecific interactions and for adaptation to environmental changes. This chemical diversity has been attributed to multiple factors, including interactions with herbivores or pollinators, tissue‐specific needs, and evolutionary ...
