An Improved $\alpha\beta$ -EPLL Based on Active Disturbance Rejection Control for Complicated Power Grid Conditions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The enhanced phase-locked loop (EPLL) adds an amplitude estimate to the conventional phase-locked loop (PLL), which solves the problem of double-frequency disturbance in the Phase-Locked Loop mathematical model at steady state.

High Center‐of‐Mass, Multi‐Legged Soft Robots Powered by Geometrically Encoded Liquid Crystal Elastomer Arc Appendages

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by the octopus and the golden wheel spider, soft robots with liquid crystal elastomer arc fibers as appendages are fabricated to transcend surface constraints through an elevated center of mass and minimal contact footprints. By leveraging curvature‐encoded deformation‐recovery cycles, these robots exhibit contractile, torsional, and flexural ...

Reference Spur Reduction Techniques for a Phase-Locked Loop

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper presents the reference spur reduction techniques for an analog phase-locked loop (PLL). A simple leakage compensation loop is proposed, which cancels the leakage current of the PLL loop filter with a negligible power overhead.

Bias‐Field Free Single‐Frequency CW‐ODMR of Nitrogen‐Vacancy Centers in Diamond for the Detection of Transient Electrical Signals

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Simplified quantum sensing technique for the detection of short electrical signals occurring in neuronal signaling or bioinspired technologies. We demonstrate a single frequency continuous‐wave optically detected magnetic resonance (CW‐ODMR) approach to sense signals that can be as short as 0.2 ms.

A design methodology to enable sampling PLLs to synthesise fractional-N frequencies

open access: yes, 2011
A novel design methodology is proposed to enable sampling phase-locked loops (SPLL) to synthesise fractional-N frequencies. To date, SPLL can only generate integer-N frequencies.

A Survey on Settling Behavior of Control Voltage in Phase Locked Loop Circuits Considering Non-Ideal Effects and Sensitivity to Circuit Components Variations

open access: yesمهندسی مخابرات جنوب
This paper comprehensively investigates how the control voltage settles in Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCO) by considering all non-ideal factors in phase lock loop circuits. Also, the different structures of the phase detector and their effect on the

A grid frequency estimation method based on moving average filter half-tangent phase-locked loop

open access: yesDiance yu yibiao
This paper proposes a half-tangent phase-locked loop (HTan-PLL) with a moving average filter (MAF) for estimating grid frequency. The proposed PLL utilizes a half-tangent phase detector (PD) and introduces MAF into the phase-locked loop to address ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...
