Energy Estimation of Distributed Phase-shift Beamforming

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2012
Ad-hoc and sensor networks are composed of small, low-power devices, which can connect between themselves without the help of an infrastructure. Research in this area has been both extensive and intensive and is still very far from exhaustion.

Pixelwise Phase Unwrapping Based on Ordered Periods Phase Shift

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The existing phase-shift methods are effective in achieving high-speed, high-precision, high-resolution, real-time shape measurement of moving objects; however, a phase-unwrapping method that can handle the motion of target objects in a real environment ...

Phase-shifted Bell states

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America B
Inspired by previous studies and pioneers of the field, we present new results on an extensive Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen (EPR)–Bell experiment using photons generated by parametric down-conversion, where one of the photons is deliberately phase-shifted.

Proposal to observe the strong Van der Waals force in e+\bar{e} -> 2 \pi

open access: yes, 2003
Large discrepancy of the p-wave phase shift data $\delta_{1}(\nu)$ of the $\pi$-$\pi$ scattering from those of the dispersion calculation is pointed out.

Theoretical performance comparison between reference-based coherent BPSK and BCH coded differential BPSK [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Both channel sounding and channel coding are well-known techniques for improving bit error rate (BER) performance of data transmission over a narrowband mobile radio channel.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The Phase Shifts of the Paired Wings of Butterfly Diagrams

open access: yes, 2010
Sunspot groups observed by Royal Greenwich Observatory/US Air Force/NOAA from May 1874 to November 2008 and the Carte Synoptique solar filaments from March 1919 to December 1989 are used to investigate the relative phase shift of the paired wings of ...

Gravitationally induced phase shift on a single photon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The effect of the Earth's gravitational potential on a quantum wave function has only been observed for massive particles. In this paper we present a scheme to measure a gravitationally induced phase shift on a single photon travelling in a coherent ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
