Quantum theory of angle and relative-phase measurement [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2014
The complementarity between time and energy, as well as between an angle and a component of angular momentum, is described at three different layers of understanding. The phenomena of super-resolution are readily apparent in the quantum phase representation which also reveals that entanglement is not required.

Effects of cardiac motion on dose distribution during stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation treatment: A simulation and phantom study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Cardiac motion may degrade dose distribution during stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation using the CyberKnife system, a robotic radiosurgery system. This study evaluated the dose distribution changes using a self‐made cardiac dynamic platform that mimics cardiac motion. Methods The cardiac dynamic platform was operated with amplitudes

Bioelectrical phase angle at diagnosis as a prognostic factor for survival in advanced head and neck cancer

open access: yesEuropean Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, 2018
ObjectiveBioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) is used to measure the patient’s body composition, fat-free mass, phase angle (PA), and standardized phase angle (SPA), which are affected by malnutrition.

From 2D to 3D gamma passing rate tolerance and action limits for patient‐specific quality assurance in volumetric‐modulated arc therapy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) requires an accurate patient‐specific quality assurance (PSQA) program. In clinical practice, this is usually performed using the γ‐index and the two‐dimensional gamma passing rate (2D %GP). A three‐dimensional (3D) index incorporating the patient anatomy could be more useful for the 3D dose ...

A Novel Method for Screening the PMU Phase Angle Difference Data Based on Hyperplane Clustering

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Compared with the traditional supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) data, phasor measurement unit (PMU) data is characterized by phase angle measurement and high reporting speed (perhaps 100 Hz).

Apparent Contact Angle and Contact Angle Hysteresis on Liquid Infused Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We theoretically investigate the apparent contact angle and contact angle hysteresis of a droplet placed on a liquid infused surface. We show that the apparent contact angle is not uniquely defined by material parameters, but also has a strong dependence on the relative size between the droplet and its surrounding wetting ridge formed by the infusing ...

Modelling of a double‐scattering proton therapy nozzle using the FLUKA Monte Carlo code and analysis of linear energy transfer in patients treated for prostate cancer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The dose‐averaged linear energy transfer (LETD) in proton therapy (PT) has in pre‐clinical studies been linked to the relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of protons. Until recently, the most common PT delivery method in prostate cancer has been double‐scattered PT, with LETD only available through dedicated Monte Carlo (MC ...
