Canonical transformations to action and phase-angle variables and phase operators [PDF]
The well-known difficulties of defining a phase operator of an oscillator are considered from the point of view of the canonical transformation to action and phase-angle variables. This transformation turns out to be nonbijective, i.e., it is not a one-to-one onto mapping. In order to make possible the unitarity of its representations in quantum optics

Analysis of Residual Strength of Inclined Angle Perforating Casing
In order to increase the effective penetration depth of perforation and establish efficient oil and gas channels, it is often required that the perforation channels should be parallel to the reservoir direction during perforation construction.

Flat lens criterion by small-angle phase
We show that a classical imaging criterion based on angular dependence of small-angle phase can be applied to any system composed of planar, uniform media to determine if it is a flat lens capable of forming a real paraxial image and to estimate the image location.

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

ELECTRIC PHASE ANGLE OF CELL MEMBRANES [PDF]
From the theory of an electric network containing any combination of resistances and a single variable impedance element having a constant phase angle independent of frequency, it is shown that the graph of the terminal series reactance against the resistance is an arc of a circle with the position of the center depending upon the phase angle of the ...

ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive decline is a disabling and variable feature of Parkinson disease (PD). While cholinergic system degeneration is linked to cognitive impairments in PD, most prior research reported cross‐sectional associations. We aimed to fill this gap by investigating whether baseline regional cerebral vesicular acetylcholine transporter ...
