Experimental Investigation on Physical and Mechanical Behaviors of Paraffin Microcapsule Phase-Change Energy-Storage Concrete

open access: yesBuildings
Phase-change materials (PCMs) are gradually being applied in the field of building energy conservation due to their ability to absorb and release heat through phase changes within a specific temperature range.

Safety of Daprodustat for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Anemia: Final Analysis of a Multicenter Postmarketing Surveillance Study in Japan

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

Experimental study on the influence of venting on temperature and pressure changes in impurity-containing supercritical CO2 pipeline

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun
Objective Impurities are inevitably present in CO2 transmitted through pipelines, and these substances have significant impacts on the venting process of supercritical CO2 pipelines, including temperature reductions, pressure drops, and phase changes of ...

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Numerical study of Leidenfrost effect suppression on structured thermal pillars using a lattice Boltzmann method

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics
A three-dimensional pseudopotential central moments lattice Boltzmann method, coupled with a fourth-order Runge–Kutta scheme for the temperature field, is employed to study the impact of Leidenfrost droplets on overheated structured thermal pillar ...

Heat Transfer Characteristics of Thermosyphons Used in Vacuum Water Heaters

open access: yesFluids
A two-phase closed thermosyphon (TPCT), a gravity-assisted heat pipe, is a highly efficient heat transmitter involving liquid–vapor phase change. It is used in many applications, including heat spreading, thermal management and control, and energy saving.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
