Magnetocaloric effect in manganites: metamagnetic transitions for magnetic refrigeration [PDF]
We present a study of the magnetocaloric effect in La5/8-yPryCa3/8MnO3 (y=0.3) and Pr0.5Ca0.09Sr0.41MnO3 manganites. The low temperature state of both ystems is the result of a competition between the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic phases.

In this paper, a composite structure double layer phase change walls with expanded graphite (EG) was investigated. By adding the EG, the time needed for the phase change process and the wall to work was both accelerated.

Distinguishing electronic and vibronic coherence in 2D spectra by their temperature dependence [PDF]
Long-lived oscillations in 2D spectra of chlorophylls are at the heart of an ongoing debate. Their physical origin is either a multi-pigment effect, such as excitonic coherence, or primarily stems from localized vibrations.

Research on preparation and thermal properties of paraffin phase change concrete
In order to study the influence of paraffin phase change microcapsules on the thermal performance of concrete, paraffin phase change microcapsules with phase change temperature of 28 ℃ were used to replace sand in the same volume within concrete to ...

SU(4) pure-gauge string tensions [PDF]
In response to recently renewed interests in SU(N) pure-gauge dynamics with large N, both from M/string duality and from finite-temperature QCD phase structure, we calculate string tensions acting between the fundamental 4, diquark 6 and other color ...

Droplet motion with phase change in a temperature gradient [PDF]
We examine the droplet motion in one-component fluids in a small temperature gradient by solving linearized hydrodynamic equations supplemented with appropriate surface boundary conditions. We show that the velocity field and the temperature around the droplet are strongly influenced by first-order phase transition taking place at the interface. Latent

Passive temperature control based on a phase change metasurface [PDF]
AbstractIn this paper, a tunable mid-infrared metasurface based on VO2 phase change material is proposed for temperature control. The proposed structure consisting of a VO2/SiO2/VO2 cavity supports a thermally switchable Fabry-Perot-like resonance mode at the transparency window of the atmosphere.
