Phase Distortion and Phase Distortion Correction

Bell System Technical Journal, 1928
The importance of the rocle played by the steady state phase characteristics of long cable circuits has recently been emphasized in telephone and telegraph transmission. In this paper an analytical exposition of the theory of phase distortion is followed by a consideration of various methods of phase distortion correction with particular reference to ...

Phase Correcting Fresnel Zoneplates

2002
Although the simple Fresnel zoneplate antenna with alternative reflective and transparent half-wave zones is easy to fabricate, its efficiency is too low for many practical applications. There are two factors that cause low efficiency to the simple Fresnel zoneplate.

Correcting phase distortion of phase shifting method

The 1st IEEE Global Conference on Consumer Electronics 2012, 2012
We propose a method of correcting phase distortion which is caused when measuring any objects by phase shifting method with an ordinary projector. We have measured some objects with the projector which is commercially available [1]. In this paper, we try to improve the precision with the proposing method.

Corrected Phase Reconstruction in Diffraction Phase Microscopy System

2021
This paper presents an approach for correcting phase reconstruction from the interferogram Diffraction phase microscopy (DPM) system if there exist artefacts around the defect features due to noises. By averaging local region around the artefacts of the unwrapped phase using a sliding window with iterative approach, the correct phase information can be

Two‐phase estimation of coverages with second‐phase corrections

Environmetrics, 2004
AbstractA two‐phase estimation of coverages of the k land categories partitioning a study area is considered. In the first phase a sample of N points is selected according to a spatial sampling design and the selected points are assigned to the k categories on the basis of satellite imagery or aerial photos.

Phase Aberration Correction of Ultrasonic Phased Array Signals

2008 Congress on Image and Signal Processing, 2008
By properly adjusting the time delays, phased arrays can dynamically phase-steer and focus the ultrasonic beams. But phase aberration due to perturbation of system and materials degrade ultrasound performance by disrupting the ultrasound beam focus.

Blind adaptive phase offset correction

Globecom '00 - IEEE. Global Telecommunications Conference. Conference Record (Cat. No.00CH37137), 2002
This paper introduces a blind adaptive carrier phase offset recovery scheme based on the constant modulus (CM) algorithm and analyzes its behavior. The proposed CM-derotator (CMD) minimizes the dispersion of the real projection of the derotated signal to remove the phase offset of the signal.

Apodization and Phase Correction

1980
Consider the Michelson Interferometer shown in Fig. 1 to be perfectly aligned. The intensity, Io(x), of radiation that reaches the detector when the path-difference between the two arms of the interferometer is x is given by $$I(x) = \int\limits_0^\infty {{I_o}(k) \cdot T(k) \cdot S(k)(1 + \cos 2\pi kx)dk;} $$ (1) (1) k is the wavenumber of ...

Phase corrections for synchrotron radiation

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2001
Abstract High accuracy calculations of synchrotron radiation (SR) emitted by a relativistic electron show that the phase of the frequency domain electric field of SR differs from the phase of radiation of a virtual point source. These differences may result in the reduction of focusing efficiency of diffraction-limited SR, if the focusing is ...
