Decomposition and Terapascal Phases of Water Ice [PDF]
Computational searches for stable and metastable structures of water ice and other H:O compositions at TPa pressures have led us to predict that H$_2$O decomposes into H$_2$O$_2$ and a hydrogen-rich phase at pressures of a little over 5 TPa. The hydrogen-rich phase is stable over a wide range of hydrogen contents, and it might play a role in the ...

Significantly fast spinodal decomposition and inhomogeneous nanoscale martensitic transformation in Ti–Nb–O alloys [PDF]
The β phase spinodal decomposition during continuous cooling in Ti‒Nb‒O alloys is investigated by the phase-field method. Addition of only a few at.%O to Ti‒23Nb (at.%) alloy remarkably increases the driving force of the β phase spinodal decomposition ...

Phase-Field Simulation of Spinodal Decomposition in Mn-Cu Alloys
The spinodal decomposition was studied in the aged Mn-40 at. %Cu, Mn-30 at. %Cu, Mn-20 at. %Cu alloys using a phase-field model based on the Cahn–Hillard equation, considering a subregular solution model and the energy contribution of the magnetic ...

Universal decomposition of phase-space integrands
One-loop integrands can be written in terms of a simple, process-independent basis. We show that a similar basis exists for integrands of phase-space integrals for the real-emission contribution at next-to-leading order. Our demonstration deploys techniques from computational algebraic geometry to partial-fraction integrands in a systematic way.

Due to the low porosity and thin thickness of the Carboniferous carbonate reservoir in the Pre-Caspian Basin, the impedance difference between the reservoir and the surrounding rock is not obvious, and the seismic response characteristics are weak. It is

Stochastic Signatures of Phase Space Decomposition [PDF]
We explore the consequences of metrically decomposing a finite phase space, modeled as a d-dimensional lattice, into disjoint subspaces (lattices). Ergodic flows of a test particle undergoing an unbiased random walk are characterized by implementing the theory of finite Markov processes.

Phase Factors in Singular Value Decomposition and Schmidt Decomposition
In singular value decomposition (SVD) of a complex matrix A, the singular vectors or the eigenvectors of AA† and A†A are unique up to complex phase factors. Thus, the two unitary matrices in SVD are unique up to diagonal matrices of phase factors, the phase-factor matrices.

Formation of metastable phases by spinodal decomposition [PDF]
AbstractMetastable phases may be spontaneously formed from other metastable phases through nucleation. Here we demonstrate the spontaneous formation of a metastable phase from an unstable equilibrium by spinodal decomposition, which leads to a transient coexistence of stable and metastable phases.
